The Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe(R), Tiptur was established in the year 1962, with a cherished desire of catering to the needs of the lerners of learning in and around Tiptur. It is the product of the Vision and dynamism of its founding Principal Shri. J. R. Mahalingaiah and the altruistic and munificent donations from the renowned Philanthropists like Shri. Pallagatti Adavappa the founding President of the Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe.

Kalpataru College, which came to light in 1962 with a meager strength of 277 students went on growing from strength to strength until 1982 when it got bifurcated into Kalpataru Science College and Pallagatti Adavappa Arts and Commerce College, for conveniences of administration.

The multi-sided development of the college during its first five years – under the able stewardship and kind guardianship of the extinguished human dynamo Sri J. R. Mahalingaiah was amazingly remarkable. He left no stone unturned to explore and exploit sources like the public donations. Central ministry of education, the university Grants Commission and the State Govt. with a mission to building up an ideal residential college. The penetrating vision and pragmatic imagination of Sri. J. R. M. perfectly matched the Zest, Zeal and sentiments of the veritable ‘Karna’ of Tiptur Sri Pallagatti Adavappa. Both successfully strived towards instilling such a Spotless team spirit into the minds of all that connected with the institute and the staff in particular, that they were hardly inclined to leave the college campus.

After completing 24 years of fruitful academic service, on the threshold of its SILVER JUBILEE, the Samsthe contemplated to start an ENGINEERING COLLEGE Which was realized in the year 1986 with the untiring efforts of Sri. T. M. Manjunath, President and Members of Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe and with the Co-operation of the Government of Karnataka and the Bangalore University.

With the strenuous efforts of President and members of Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe and with the co-operation of Govt of Karnataka, Bangalore University and Tumkur University, the following educational institutions have come into existence with the prime object of imparting the education in the rural area of Tiptur.

The Philanthropists like late Sri D. M. Shankarappa and Sri T. M. Manjunath have served as the president of the Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe, Tiptur. Sri G. R. Karisiddharadhya has also served in the capacity of Treasurer and President and Honourary President.

The Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe is striving hard to promote the education in the rural area in all branches of education field.
